This week I’ve been blessed with a wonderful write up by my new best bud, jammer Matt, over at 40 and Holding. I’m not one to toot my own horn, but his words were very kind and made me proud of this site. Writing is a very lonely gig, and sometimes I have doubt about whether The Rock And Roll Guru is hitting its stride and delivering the message that I want others to see. With a nice little blurb, Matt confirmed for me that I am doing the music world justice.
You can read the blurb here: http://jammermatt.typepad.com/40andholding/2009/03/cool-blog-for-your-earhole.html
And you can read the entire 40 and holding website here. http://jammermatt.typepad.com/ Be sure to check out the concert page when you stop by for a visit. It’s an amazing recap of every concert that he has attended, with some humor injected into the mix.
As mentioned last week, Phish is giving away free downloads from their first three shows of this reunion tour. The quality is high, and the band sounds excellent, especially considering they haven’t played together in over 5 years. Get your free Phish here: http://www.livephish.com/
Billy Corgan thinks that radio stations should start paying artists for playing their songs. Is he freaking kidding me? If the radio doesn’t play your song, Billy, you don’t get heard, and you don’t get exposure to millions of listeners. You can go ahead and promote your music via mailers and your website. No one is listening to the Smashing Pumpkins anyway. Yesterday’s music.

And finally, Esquire has put together a list of 75 albums every man should own. And you will note that Kiss’ Destroyer made the list. Let the debates begin!
