First up is another track from Heavy Glow. This song is called Hot Mess and while it’s not as great as Love Ghost, it still has some ripping guitar and a heavy vibe. It’s an enjoyable song.

Still Standing – Blister In The Sun
It’s very risky to remake a song as famous and beloved as The Violent Femmes, Blister In The Sun. Still Standing totally remade this song in their own image and did a phenomenal job with it. They’ve taken this classic rocker and gave it modern flair. An excellent remake!

Reni Lane – Place For Us
If you like electronic or dance beat music, you will enjoy this track by Reni Lane. New to the scene, but coming on the music radar fast & furious, Reni Lane just might be a household name by the end of this year. Keep your ears on her.

Some Cool New Music For You To Rock On - Heavy Glow

Check out the track Love Ghost from Heavy Glow below. This is great stuff with nice guitar work that has a Santana feel mixed with some Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Love Ghost hits hard with a funk and blues/soul rhythm. Definitely worth a listen or three.

San Diego-born power rock trio, Heavy Glow, was formed in August of 2008 by Jared Mullins, vocalist/multi-instrumentalist, and bassist Joe Brooks after the break-up of their first band. With the addition of drummer Dan Kurtz, the trio have recorded 2 stellar EPs at the Velvet Revolver Studio in LA with legendary producer / guitarist, Stevie Salas.

Under the production of Salas, who has worked with such greats as Rod Stewart, Mick Jagger, George Clinton, Justin Timberlake and T.I., the band have been recommended by San Diego radio station 94.9 KBZT-FM and received regular airplay on San Diego stations 105.3 KIOZ-FM and 91.1 XTRA-FM as well as spins in Italy, Canada and Germany.
