Going To See Bruce This Week? Be Prepared To Pay!

For those of you planning to attend either the Thursday or Friday Bruce Springsteen concert, your cousin Ryo has a word of warning. Be prepared to pay a lot just to park your car. My wife and I went to last Friday’s concert and when we pulled up to the parking attendant I almost choked. Giants Stadium was charging $25 to park! $25! Are you kidding me?

First off, where else were we going to park? There were no shuttle options, no alternate parking options, and no other choices. If we wanted to see the concert, not only did we need our tickets that came with excessive surcharge fees, now we had to pay $25 to park the car.

What is the stadium possibly using that money for other than profit? Sure, there were some employees helping to direct traffic, and there were employees taking payment (extortion) for parking, but otherwise… what? The security is paid for by the stadium which is covered in the cost of the ticket. I can’t fathom what else is covered in the parking cost.

$25 per vehicle is a blatant slap in the face to Bruce’s fans and a sign of the stadium owner’s greed. They are ripping off the fans by charging that ridiculous amount. It’s not like they are offering valet parking. These are city garage prices for crying out loud!

And what can be done about this? Absolutely nothing. Yes, I can write to the stadiums and complain. I can post my rant here on the blog, but in the end, the stadium doesn’t care. All complaints are falling on deaf ears. In the end, you just have to drop your drawers, grab your ankles, and take it like a man.

So, for those of you going to the last 2 shows at Giants Stadium, be sure to have plenty of cash and some KY lube. You’ll need both to get your car into the stadium.

What do you think is a reasonable price for parking? Comments are open. Feel free to post some.
